There was a lot of talk in the news about budgets earlier this month. It started with President Obama’s proposed budget, which he must submit on the first Monday of February according to the Budget Act of 1921. This budget he is proposing is for the next fiscal year. That’s FY 2016 which starts this fall. Our country’s fiscal year runs from October 1 to September 30, so that means that the President is way ahead of most of us, prepping the federal budget about 8 months early. Of course, he has hundreds of people to wrestle with over it, but still, 8 months is a good head start.
