I spent the weekend in New Jersey in and around the area where the majority of the Revolutionary War battles were fought. My host was a history buff and told us how unlikely it was that the colonists should have won that war. What were the chances of a bunch of loosely held British colonies beating King George and the powerful British Empire? They were certainly more than seven and a half point underdogs!
