The public has a negative image of its GOP governor, its GOP Senator, its GOP Legislature and much of the GOP presidential field. The major exception to this pattern is new House Speaker Paul Ryan of Janesville. Ryan is viewed positively by 49% of registered voters and negatively by just 34% by the Marquette Law School. Those are Ryan’s best numbers in more than three years of polling by Marquette, and the best rating an elected Republican from this state has had since the survey began in 2012.
