By of the Journal Sentinel University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee Chancellor Mark Mone sent a campuswide email Tuesday to squelch a rumor that top-level discussions were underway to possibly drop research from the Milwaukee campus' mission. "There has been some misinformation circulating that the (UW System) Board of Regents is considering changing UWM's mission to become a comprehensive university," Mone wrote. "This is false. I've spoken to UWS President Ray Cross and a change in our status as a research university is not being considered."
