By July 16, 2015 4:42 p.m. Have you seen Eggs Benedict? I have. It’s quite amazing. When you see it from a distance it just looks like an enormous portrait. The pope is smiling; it’s actually a flattering image. It is not, as some have claimed, a purposely “goofy grin” or anything like that. It’s based on an actual photo of Benedict, and is a good likeness. The image on the left is a photograph. On the right is "Eggs Benedict." When you get closer you realize it’s a giant needlepoint, basically, but the “yarn” is rubber. Hundreds of colors that allow for subtle gradations.
